The Fire Brigade Union (England and Wales) will go ahead with the strike on Wednesday 25th September.
In the parts of the UK affected, it may well be that fire and rescue services may not be able to respond to 999 calls, or if they do, the time taken to arrive at the scene of an incident may be much longer than normal, and the resources they are able to deploy may be severely curtailed.
Priority will be given to incidents where lives are at risk, which means that they may not be able to respond to incidents where only property damage is likely.
In order to take proportionate, appropriate and reasonable steps during this strike and any future strikes that may occur in the immediate aftermath of Wednesday 25thSeptember, we will continue to update this page with the relevant information provided by a variety of different insurers. In addition, the government may publish additional fire safety advice for strike periods may be found at www.gov.uk
