Allianz
Since their formation in 1905 by the Directors of Willis Faber as a fire insurance company, Cornhill Insurance has steadily grown in size, but has since 1978 been synonymous with English Test Cricket, in view of their continued sponsorship. This came to an end in the year 2000.
The most significant recent development occurred in 1986 when they were purchased by Allianz AG. This led to other acquisitions, which has given the UK based company the financial backing of one of the top three insurance groups in world terms.
They continue to develop, exploring new markets in the UK, but with the assurance that the expertise and financial backing that is provided by the association with a large world-wide insurance group such as Allianz.
